Description
So I just wanted to download Chatting mod for "Chat Position" setting and then set most of other settings to off because I just want a vanilla chat but I encountered several issues:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBIlre9BPDY
- Changing the scale specifically when it's under 1 makes a kind of shift in chat (especially notable when trying to accept a party) -> Shown in video
- "Extend Chat Background" setting doesn't seem to work -> Shown in video
Others:
- The way messages fade isn't exactly the same as vanilla (even after selecting Chat Window -> Revert to Vanilla Chat Window) -> chat should fade at the same time as the message (note that everything was also disabled in "Animations")
- Chat position isn't moved up 12 pixels, it's sligthly too low (unless it was slightly too high on Sk1er's Patcher version, but one is probably wrong)
- I'm not sure whether this is intentional (that's why I also put a Discord suggestion about it), but the "Chat Window" section appears to override some of the default Minecraft vanilla chat settings. This means that even if you use the same default chat settings with the mod and without it (vanilla), the chat size of the chat won't be the same
- seems to also come from the scale setting from the chatting mod (Chat window section), since there's already a scale setting by default (in vanilla's chat settings), it seems to cause the issue and what you suggested above is what I just tested and there's still the issues
the fact Chat position isn't moved up 12 pixels (assuming Sk1er's version is accurate) can lead to situations like that (y overlapping hearts)
