upslog and Windows

Was looking at setting up upslog on a windows device and wanted to rotate the logs. But I'm not sure if the instructions apply to windows in the same way. In windows there is no upslog.pid file that I can find when it's running. Is this as simple as telling upslog to shutdown and restart? or is there something I'm missing here?

For the time being - yes, restart is best, as Windows does not do signals anyway. Some other daemons with -c somecmd support work around this by named pipes with magic messages, but I don't think anyone applied the idea to upslog.

Should be an easy copy-paste with adaptation though, so PRs welcome ;)

Is there way to make upslog run as a service? with a config file or will I need to find some other way to run it?
I can make Task scheduler work, it would just be easier if it was a service :). net stop "service name", copy log, net start "service name" :).

Not with built-in capabilities. There are third-party projects to make a windows service from (by calling) a given exe; I used some for java jars or tomcat which went a step further to call java $OPTS -jar $ARGS so certainly doable. In fact if quick googling failed, I'd start with looking at what tomcat uses.

That said,Task Scheduler entries are easy to start/stop via command line and ensure run-once (no clone wars for multiple launch trigger).
