See previous 1.22 release for notes.

Default IPK is for GLES 2 devices (webOS up to 4.4.2)
Use GLES 3 IPK for webOS 4.10.0 and higher

webOS specific:

  • Ensure gamepads/mouse buttons/keyboard keys/buttons are passed through to RetroArch since functionality changed in webOS 8.3+
  • Real Mouse + magic remote support for scumm vm (should work with other point and click cores)
  • Partial working mouse support for Quake 2 etc., not fully implemented yet

Installation

  • Install the .ipk
  • Start RetroArch from home screen
  • Online Updater → Update Core Info Files, Online Updater → Update Assets
  • Online Updater → Core Downloader - select the cores you wish to download from the repository
  • ROMs can be loaded off USB drives if rooted (/tmp/usb/...) or uploading via sftp to your device
  • You can use a USB or Bluetooth controller by pairing with webOS - I have used a Xbox Series X controller via bluetooth
  • You need to remap a controller button to close the emulator in settings

Changes

Known issues

  • some cores are untested (e.g. dosbox)
  • muopen64 (N64) requires OpenGLESv3 (v2 is broken, known bug) - might require WebOS v4 and higher
